Usually I save that lovely term for my spunky little redheaded daughter when she's in a bad mood, but today I have to use it on myself. I had my 36 week appointment today. A month ago I had asked about a plan to induce me so this baby didn't end up being as large (and damaging) as Makenna was, and she said we start talking about that at 36 weeks. So I went to my appointment today hoping to actually discuss such details. I was wrong. Not only did I wait an hour before she came in the room, but she made no promises of eviction dates at ALL. She just said I was measuring small, and most people aren't as damaged after their 2nd, and that it's "just a little longer." And to top it off, she'll be gone next week, so I see a NP, and I'm pretty sure she can't promise me anything either. Grrr. I should be glad I'm measuring small. I just want the baby out of my belly as soon as possible.
To make it better, husband and I are going on a date tonight, while Kenna is with Grandma & Grandpa. We're going out to dinner to Flat Top (someplace we can't go with Kenna) and out to a movie (I don't care what it is, it's just nice to go see one in the theater!) And if I'm lucky perhaps a little trip to Cold Stone at the end of the night. :)
Oh, and no more ultrasounds unless something goes wrong, so we won't know the gender until it arrives. I'm OK with that part now. It's a little exciting to have a surprise in store. And no, we don't have names picked out. That will be a surprise too... because we don't have a list made. Oh well. "it's just a little longer," right?
Just thought you'd all like the update!

"Just a little longer" my behind! Does this woman have children?! I know how you feel... Although--this isn't going to make you feel better, or maybe it is--you remember how "damaged" I was with Ashlyn? Well, Maguire was 11oz bigger than Ash (yes, 9.5lbs of boy!) and it was SO much easier. Having them this close helps with that too. Things haven't quite gone back to--well, you get the picture ;)
Have FUN tonight! Love you and can't wait to hear more about the little babe inside :)
Oh I feel for you. I remember wanting nothing more than to have my body back to myself! Though it's not the same for everyone, the second delivery was SOOOOO much better than my first. I had a level 3 "damage" with Haylee, with Soph it was a 1. So I hope the same for you. How are your braxton Hicks, I found the second time to be more painful and frequent. I pray this baby wants to come out soon and meet the fam. Enjoy date nite, and Cold Stone. I ate the Peanut Butter and Chocolate flavor out of the pint! Good stuff!
