Costume Day

Can't really call it Halloween... we did nothing "halloweeny" other than wearing the garb around the house. Some of you have heard this story already, but the little girl next door came over to give Makenna a little bag of goodies, dressed in her fairy outfit. Makenna and I went outside to say hello to the neighbors, and she took one look at all of them dressed up, and said "inside mommy.. inside mommy... INSIDE MOMMY." I think she was scared. She doesn't even like the giant Chick-fil-a cow, so I was expecting this.
Now for the part you all wanted to see anyway...

Miss Makenna was a pretty little ladybug. Note the short sleeves and leggings. I was not prepared for a hot Halloween, so we had nothing black that was weather appropriate. Oops. She still thought it was fantastic!

And little Mattie... she was supposed to be the Pea-in-the-pod that Makenna wore for her first Halloween. But I can't find it! I just unpacked it last month. I remember putting it "somewhere safe" so I'd know where it was. I just don't remember where that place is. Fortunately Aunt Rachelle lent her a pumpkin onesie & pants. Though the pumpkin pants came off around 2pm because it was so hot! I realize this pic doesn't portray the festiveness of the onesie... but you can see some blobs of orange.... those would be pumpkins.

And just for fun... here is Makenna in her new winter coat. She picked it off the racks before I got to it and proclaimed "Oh Mommy, I love it!" Grandma & PawPaw sent it to her, and she wants to try it on almost every day. We also had an adventure looking for the hat/mittens. She has a big head and small hands. So while the 2T-5T hat fits perfectly, the mittens are almost 2 inches too long. Hmmm. A Dilemma. Anyway... she's off to a football game with daddy, and stopped just long enough to pose in her new garb so mommy could take the picture.
