Super Nanny

It's nap time at my house. I want to be napping. I should be working. But instead, I'm blogging. Why? Because it feels like an episode of Super Nanny at my house. You know the families who have kids who won't stay in bed and Super Nanny walks them through a series of things to do, which starting at step 3 is just putting them back in their bed and leaving the room? Yep, that's me. I have one kid who won't (never has, never will) leave her bed without permission. I thought it was just what kids were supposed to do.

Then I had the other kid. I quickly realized this one would take some effort, but I didn't think it would take so long. We've tried just about everything -- and some days are perfect -- but mostly there are days like today. Nap time started at 1:15. At 1:45 I moved kenna out of the shared room so she could sleep peacefully. It's 2:48 by my clock and I'm still putting mattie back in her bed. ::sigh::

So, while my work is piling up on me for tonight, and I am becoming increasingly exhausted thinking about a long day with no nap, I decided to blog in the midst of the chaos. I guess these are the times when I'm glad I have a blog. This would never have fit in the character limit for a status.

Keep at it! Your little girl will benefit from your loving correction, even if she doesn't like it in the meantime. Keep up the good work!
