oh-so-thankful for:
1) A Potty-trained 2 year old. We don't do candy or treats each time she goes on the potty, but we do celebrate long-term success. She went 10 days with only one accident of any kind, even staying dry through naptimes and public outings. So exciting! So we went to pick out her special reward - pretty much anything within reason under $10. She picked Lemon Meringue - the doll, not the dessert.
2) A smiley baby. Seriously, this little boy gives me so many smiles and laughs, it just melts my heart. My other kids liked me to, don't get me wrong, but this kid LOVES seeing my face. It's mutual, buddy!
3) New recipes. This is a new one for me. Usually I'm a tried and true kind of girl, but I've been forced outside of my comfort zone coming up with new dishes that don't contain meat. So fun!
4) The Take Home Chef. Who knew the whole family could come together watching a cooking show? Funny that the 4 year old has been requesting this show repeatedly - even over Dora, Backyardigans, and (gasp) the Music Man. When asked why she loved it so much she replied "I love when they yell 'Surprise!' Oh, and I like the cooking too." :)
5) Good friends who create memories with my kids. Recently we had two friends of ours (grown up friends) come and steal my girls away to take them to Build-a-Bear for the first time (well, technically Kenna has been there before, but she doesn't remember - she was 2). A treat for me, as it was during the dinner prep hour, and a treat for them making a memory with great friends!
Enjoy your weekend - remember to have a thankful heart!
