allergies a-plenty

Well, testing of all three kids is complete.

Collin - severe - milk

Kenna - severe - dust mites, penicillium (mold)
significant - three other molds, cockroaches, cats
              mild - another mold.

Mattie - nothing.  Which is weird, because she gets skin reactions to all sorts of things from cinnamon to bandages/adhesives.  Apparently she isn't out of the woods, but she's ok for now.

I've learned a lot in the last 24 hours.
1)  If you vacuum too much, you can do more harm than good.  Every time you vacuum, dust flies through the air.  If you're allergic to dust, this is problematic.

2)  Humidifiers perpetuate mold and dust mite allergies, as it gives the little creepy bugs a better living habitat.  So all those times she got stuffy and we cranked up the humidifier, we weren't really helping her.

3)  And also, these particular allergies are excellent reasons to not have carpet at all.  But somehow , I don't think re-flooring the whole house is in the budget.  I hear hardwood (laminate) calling my name, but I'm not sure my husband hears the same thing.  ;)  A girl can dream, right?

Here's to the makers of Zyrtec, Similac Alimentum, and (hopefully) better health.

Shoot, Court! That certainly keeps you on your toes... as if you weren't doing enough already. :) Hope things calm down for you for awhile.
