We love the zoo. I like to think of it as organized chaos, but it's usually the perfect amount of routine and distraction to keep the troops entertained. On this particular day, our tour buddy was Grammy... and our trip to the zoo started off with a surprise! A "backstage pass" to the zoo kitchen. The guy in red works back in this kitchen - the main one - where the animals usually have one meal prepared, as well as their doses of meds/vitamins. Off to the right was a board of the vet schedule for the sick animals. Interesting illnesses, but that's not a good blog topic. So let's move on.

This is one of Kenna's favorite things to do - a drink from the Lion's mouth. Gross. It's lukewarm, and I'm sure, filled with germs, but whatever. She loves it. Oh, and note her attire... a dress, shades, jewelry... such a girly girl.

Grammy & Kenna in their shades. (And no Kenna isn't picking her nose OR biting her nails in this pic, but she was trying to "not smile".)

Some of my favorite scenery at our zoo in the new African Adventure or whatever it's called. The mist and the waterfall.
