Mattie's 1 year pics

I feel bad for Mattie, sometimes. I realized, as her one year birthday was approaching, that her sister had been photographed professionally about 5 times to Mattie's 1 time. Oops. So I wanted to make sure I did her 1 year pics the way we like (as opposed to Picture People, who is great, but whose white backgrounds were getting old.)

We are blessed to be friends with many photographers, and I like to share the love, so this time we used Amber, who I have known since HS, but goes to Grace with us and is part of our House Church. I was nervous how Mattie would do - the big family shoot a few weeks back was less than stellar for her. We inadvertently picked the hottest day of the summer, with a heat index of 105, but I was determined to try. I got Brian to watch Makenna while Mattie and I had a date with the photographer... and she was wonderful! She laughed, she looked, she smiled, she ate rocks... :)
